Headwaters to Ocean (H2O)
Sample Daily Schedule– Events may be altered due to weather and other unpredicted events.
Day 1
9:30 am Participants will gather at George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego. Twelve-passenger vans will be used for our expedition. The first step will be for participants to meet each other. Following a short meet and greet activity, participants will place all of their gear in the "stuff" van, and then enter the vehicle(s) and be randomly seated.
9:30 Lights Out
Day 2
6:30 - 7:00 Breakfast
7:00 - 7:15 Orientation for the day: what to wear, what to pack, etc.
7:15-7:30 Return to the bunk rooms to get dressed and packed for the day. Make your own lunch.
7:30 - 10:00 Explore Seal Rock natural tide pool area. Several stops will be made to learn about tide pools of the Oregon coast. Counts of plastic debris/marine litter will be our lab for the morning.
10:00 - 12:30 Animal adaptations lab and whale skeleton assembly at OSU's Hatfield Marine Science Center.
12:30 Lunch
1:00-4:00 . Time in the laboratory to study marine invertebrates, engineer and build submarines, and learn about the unique habitat of the Yaquina Bay estuary.
4:00 - 5:00 Dinner
5:00-7:00 Sea Life Tour aboard Marine Discovery Tours vessel
7:00 - 8:30 Free time/snacks at Seakrest Lodge
8:30-9:15 Campfire
9:30 Lights out.
Day 3
7:15-8:00 Quiet games in the gathering room.
8:00-8:30 Breakfast
8:30-9:00 Orientation for the day. What to wear & what to pack.
9:00-9:45 Return to the bunk rooms, clean up, get dressed, and pack up to leave. Make your own lunch.
10:00 Depart Newport and travel to the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum
11:45 Arrive at the museum.
11:45-12:15 Lunch
12:15-3:00 Wings to Waves Hydrology Center.
3:00-5:00 Travel to Portland with selected hydrology stops.
5:00-5:30 Happy, tired, and full of new knowledge, children arrive at George Rogers Park to greet parents.

- The group will travel towards Salem, Oregon via the Wheatland Ferry. We will make several stops along the way. Lunch will be at Salem Riverfront City Park.
- Move into the cabins and get an orientation of the SeaKrest retreat facility. After a fire drill there will be free time/beach time until dinner at 6:30.
- Gather for dessert at the lodge at Sunset and hike along Agate Beach to hunt for marine fossils and keep them!
- Campfire if conditions allow.
